Fatty tumor

Hello I have a three year old mini Black Schnauzer he has a fatty tumor on his but . After spending $500. plus in vet bills and test. The surgeon says it is not cancer and to watch it if it starts to get bigger she will have to remove it . Is there anyone out there that has been through this and if so what did you do??. also he has a problem with his tail the docking was done improperly and they didn't leave enough skin over the tail bone so he is trying to lick it . The surgeon thinks he is having phantom pain. Any one had this problem ? Thanking you for any response, Earla

Hi Earla,

One of my older dogs (she's 14 and a half now) has several lipomas (fatty tumors), none have been malignant. Only 2 have been removed to date and that was because they were causing some discomfort because of their location, the others have been left alone.

You may like to try this link below that has some good information.

There must be other forum members who can offer some of their experience as well.

warmly,

Sharda :)
